In 2011, the Conservatives removed the environmental requirements in the National Planning Policy Framework (NNPF).  This was the Cameron Conservatives who promised to be the greenest govt ever and then they removed the code for sustainable homes from the NPPF, they also removed the commitment to build to at least code level 3 for the social housing programme.

With the amount of housing growth we’ve had, the vast majority of new homes built in and around North West Leicestershire in the last decade do not have the most simple measures such as solar panels.  Which not only reduces the impact of each new home, it removes demand in the grid to support that new home.
