Sad death of Ibstock and Heather Councillor Dave De Lacy

DaveDeLacy.jpgNorth West Leicestershire Labour Party is sad to announce the death of Ibstock and Heather Labour Councillor Dave De Lacy.

Dave has been a Councillor since the 2012 Ibstock and Heather by election and also served as Shadow Corporate Portfolio Holder on the District Council. Dave passed away suddenly but peacefully this week.

Councillor Tom Neilson, Leader of the Labour Group, said: "I am shocked and saddened by the news. I have lost a good friend and mentor. Dave was a great family man and a true fighter for what he thought was right. Dave will be missed hugely by everyone"

Jamie McMahon, Labour Parliamentary candidate, said: "Dave's sudden passing leaves a massive hole in the Labour Party and the District Council. He was a tireless local Councillor who devoted his life to both his family and those causes he believed in."

Janet Ruff, fellow Ibstock and Heather Councillor, said: "No one went above and beyond the call of duty to help people more than Dave. People say politicians are all the same but Dave's commitment to helping local people in need was enough to restore anyone's faith."
