Jamie welcomes bus stop success

Jamie McMahon, Labour Parliamentary Candidate for North West Leicestershire, welcomed news of an extra bus stop opposite the Long Lane Surgery.

When patients travel from Coalville town to Long Lane Surgery, the bus drops them conveniently outside. Coming home is another matter. It is a good 3 minute walk to London Road to catch the bus back. That is a long way if you are short of breath.

When Cllr Terri Eynon and John Legrys heard that two smaller town centre GP practices were aiming to merge with Long Lane Surgery their first concern was how people could get there and back.

Cllr Terri Eynon reports "An on-site "bus-stop meeting" today with officers from the District, County Council and Police has come up with a solution that should please GPs and patients alike. A "sister-stop" is to be created directly opposite the surgery."

With the District Council elections only weeks away, Cllr John Legrys encourages people to vote local. "Campaigning for little improvements that make a big difference is real grassroots politics."
