The Grand Opening of North West Leicestershire's Community Radio Station and Coffee Lounge was attended by local, District and County Councillors as well as business people involved in improving the area.
Dr Terri Eynon, County Councillor for Coalville presented two plaques from Leicestershire County Council.
HermitageFM have benefited from three substantial Council grants to help them move premises to a new site at Memorial Square, bringing an empty building back into use and livening up the town centre.
A Big Society Grant Fund (£19,830) helped to get the project off the ground. It paid for professional fees and construction work on the new building.
A Shire Community Building Grant (£2,316) went towards the community room and new toilets.
The beautiful new frontage on Memorial Square was paid for by a Better Places Capital Works fund (£18,000).
Cllr Dr Terri Eynon said "This is a great investment by the County Council in Coalville Town Centre. HermitageFM works with the Town Team, Ashby Tourist Information, Snibston Discovery Park as well as local sports teams to Talk Up Our Towns.
"Community radio is a great way to promote this area and bring even more people to see the good things North West Leicestershire has to offer."
