It is my privilege to stand again for the Labour Party in Ibstock East. My return has been prompted by the sudden death of Cllr Dave De Lacy. I wish to continue his great work and that of Janet Ruff and Heather Worman in representing Ibstock.
Living and working in this area I am aware of the pressures points. Tory austerity has hit most residents who use public services.
I served as District Councillor from 2003 to 2007 and was elected again at the by-election in 2008. I held many posts on a full variety of committees. My commitment was exemplified by my very high attendance record at meetings.
I strongly believe that Ibstock can fight against ‘dormitory’ status, keep our unique sense of humour and strong character and become the best place to work, to live and to bring up families in a great community.
I cannot promise to fix everything but I can promise you I will listen, I will act and I will tell you what I have done.
